![]() ![]() On the surface Second Life seems pretty good, they are experiencing growth, say they have upward mobility, but it is all a facade. So, now you're gone and since communication is non-existent and no one has had the courage to have any constructive conversation with you, you are sucker punched and jobless. This "opportunity" and talk of elevating your career is exciting until one day, abruptly, it is determined by someone that you don't fit in. So, lets say you're one of the chosen ones who has been hired to their elite organization, you have left a job for Second Life's "opportunity". This is fine but what is funny is that those same people who are evaluating culture are rarely in the office to even know what is truly going on half of the time, so having them evaluate potential employees for culture is silly and what is often laughed about on in the office. This step is important because they dont trust their managers. Prior to all of this though, you of course have to get interviewed by certain people at the tail end of the process to see if you are a "culture fit". If you are a minion with no opinion, you will love this place and they will love you. ![]() The culture they try to promote falls flat and is riddled with toxicity and control. Place is a total train wreck, lacks integrity. It is not worth the stress and treatment. Look elsewhere for your own mental health. This place goes against every ethical way of thinking and being. They think they will one day get Top 100 Places to work and I hate to say that will never happen for this company with the individuals they currently have sitting in leadership. It’s sad that during a time of a pandemic they do not care about their team only the bottom line (revenue). You feel as though this is prison rather than a place of employment. They have had many good employees that they have let go because they did not personally like that they wouldn’t snitch on their teammates. They hire people based on broken promises and lies. They fire/lay individuals off based on personal preference rather than work ethic. The HR team is the worst one I’ve encountered throughout my career. They watch their employees every move and do not make people feel safe or valued. However, the leadership in this company is less than fair. The idea of this place sounds great on paper. ![]()
